Why same-sex marriage has nothing to do with civil rights

Could same-sex marriage cost Obama black vote?

If Barack Obama is counting on the 96 percent of African-American voters who supported him in 2008 to do the same in November, he has reason to worry. “It is time for black Christians to have the faith and courage to refuse to associate with the Democratic Party that has become anti-Christian, anti-Israel, anti-Church, anti-Bible, anti-life, anti-family and anti-God,” said Bishop E. W. Jackson Sr., president of the group STAND, Staying True to America’s National Destiny. Jackson is leading an effort, called Exodus Now, that is heralded as the first time a nationally prominent black pastor has called on African-Americans to leave the Democratic Party since the black community’s political realignment with Democrats in the 1960s. In a message posted on YouTube, Jackson calls on black Christians to end “the slavish devotion to the Democratic Party.”
