#26 since smacking ban – nothing’s changed

NUMBER 26 – Mikara Ranui Jarius Reti died shortly after family members on his maternal side took him from Flaxmere to Hawke’s Bay Hospital last Tuesday. Police have arrested and charged a 21-year-old Hastings man with manslaughter. The man appeared in Hastings District Court on Saturday and was remanded in custody. He has interim name suppression and is due to reappear today. Mr Te Aho said he had been told his son suffered blunt force trauma to his liver, which caused internal bleeding, leading to his death. He also had fractured ribs.

When will the politicians and simpletons learn, you can’t get rid of real child abuse unless you deal with the real causes and it’s not good parents smacking their kids to correct bad behaviour.
Imagine what could have been done for these 26 kids if politicians and self proclaimed child welfare experts had of spent their time dealing with the real causes of child abuse, instead of using these poor kids as a reason to impose their flawed methods of child rearing on the rest of the population
