InsideOut has tried to ‘hide’ poetry that won an award as part of Out on the Shelves because many people on social media said that there were potentially underlying themes of sexual innuendo, incest and self-harm.
Last weekend, a controversial (according to the Mayor & media) conference was held to talk about gender ideology and the harm it is doing to young people. Despite efforts to ‘cancel’ the event by activists & some councillors who are only “inclusive” if they agree with you, and who wear pink shirts against bullying except when disagree with you, the conference went ahead with protestors outside for a short time, faeces and urine being thrown on some cops, and the cafe in the venue throwing their toys out of the cot and closing for the day for fear of being…. upset. You would think that at this time, the Public Service Commission would be concerned about jobs being lost and redundancies and all that sort of important and urgent stuff. But nope – the focus is on counselling, safe spaces and indoctrination for incorrect use of personal pronouns.
