Family First Comment: The competition promoters should be “a little more creative, and a lot more family-friendly.”
A sudden burst of nude streaking around the country has been revealed as a promotional stunt organised by a self-styled social media ‘daredevil’.
Up to 17,000 people around New Zealand are claimed to have signed up for the stunt and stripped off in public in the last few weeks for a chance to win a trip to Rarotonga.
Photos of the streaks have peppered social media, either posted by those in the buff to prove they took part, or uploaded by startled members of the public who came across their cheeky stunts.
While some saw the funny side, Family First’s Bob McCoskie said there was a time and place for nudity, and it was not on our main streets, beaches or in public where families and children could see it.
“These ‘show-ponies’ should be told to cover up and go home,” he said.
McCoskie said the competition promoters should be “a little more creative, and a lot more family-friendly.”
