TVNZ should try reading the report – rather than misrepresenting it
This is an example of awful media reporting that we have in NZ. Our report doesn’t call for the “government to limit screentime for children”. We would also reject that call.
It calls for GUIDELINES so parents can make informed decisions based on the best research and information.
Child development experts are increasingly concerned not so much about screentime per se, but the AMOUNT children are watching – in their bedroom, before bedtime, when they could be playing outside, as very young children.
It’s a pity TVNZ didn’t read and understand the full report.
We deserve better from the state broadcaster.
