“Victor Hugo Prada, Manuel Bermudez and Alejandro Rodriguez will sign a document that states the three of them constitute a family and are each others’ legal partners. Unfortunately their arrangement cannot be legally considered a marriage, according to their lawyer Germán Rincon-Perfetti. He told the Guardian that because in Colombian law “a marriage is between two people” they had to invent a new term: “a special patrimonial union.” Mr Prada says they refer to themselves as a “trieja,” which means “throuple”.”
The upcoming wedding of three men in Colombia will be the first legalised ceremony of its kind in the country – and possibly the world.

“We want to make what’s intimate, public,” Mr Prada, 23, explained to the Guardian.
“We have no reason to hide it. We are just helping people realise that there are different types of love and different types of family.”
